What's next
One set stands between now and 2027: Mega Evolution—Delta Reign, on November 6, 2026. It is the sixth main expansion of the era, built around Mega Rayquaza ex, and the international release of Japan's Storm Emeralda. Expect the usual product wave on day one — Elite Trainer Boxes, booster displays and bundles — with Build & Battle events in the run-up.
And then? Nothing, officially. No Pokemon TCG release dates for 2027 have been announced yet — anything you read about next year's sets is speculation, not a date. When The Pokemon Company names the next one (announcements typically land two to three months before release), it gets added here with the rest of the calendar.
Card level
A set's release date is really a week, not a day. Most expansions open with pre-release events at local game stores about two weeks before the official date — Chaos Rising ran its pre-releases May 9-17 before arriving on May 22 — and then the main wave lands everywhere at once: booster boxes, Elite Trainer Boxes and booster bundles all ship on the same day.
Special sets do it differently. Ascended Heroes and 30th Celebration arrived through collection products rather than a standard booster box, and their supporting products can spread over the following weeks instead of landing on one day. Promo cards run on their own schedules too — store promos are handed out at play events, not sold on release day. So when you are planning a purchase, the date in the table above tells you when the main wave hits; the notes flag anything unusual about a specific set.

How it works
Three things explain almost every date on this page: the era's eight-week heart, the Japan-to-English lag, and the small print that lets dates move.
Between September 2025 and November 2026, the seven gaps between headline sets run 49, 77, 56, 56, 56, 61 and 51 days — the 56-day (eight-week) gap shows up three times, and no gap has stretched past eleven weeks. A new set every seven to eleven weeks is what the era has actually delivered, with eight weeks as the default. That is why a "when is the next set" answer is usually possible even months ahead: the cadence itself is the tell.
Japanese releases have historically led English ones by about two to three months: Storm Emeralda landed on July 31, 2026, and its English counterpart, Delta Reign, follows on November 6. The two versions share cards but not always names, which is why a set can be fully known months before it arrives. September 2026 broke the pattern for the first time — 30th Celebration launched worldwide on a single day.
New sets are usually announced two to three months before release, with Build & Battle pre-release weekends in the final stretch. If something goes wrong, a date can shift: the EMEA rollout of Mega Evolution slid from September 26 to October 10, 2025. That is why every date here carries the same standard — officially announced by The Pokemon Company, or it does not make the table.
