Turn shown stats into hidden values
Every Pokemon carries six hidden Individual Values, one per stat, each from 0 to 31. They never show up in-game; the game only displays the final stat, which is the formula result of base stats, IVs, EVs, level and nature mixed together. This Pokemon IV calculator runs that formula backwards: pick the species, enter its level, nature and the six stats you see on screen, and it checks every IV from 0 to 31 to find which ones actually produce those numbers.
Because the game uses integer rounding, several IVs can land on the same stat at low levels — the calculator reports the full matching range rather than guessing a single number. Raise the Pokemon or train EVs and the same tool narrows the range down to one or two values, exactly the way in-game judges would.
Higher stats start with a base
At level 100, a single IV point is worth exactly one stat point on a neutral nature, and a perfect 31 means the Pokemon is running at its natural maximum. That gap decides speed ties, HP thresholds and defensive breakpoints in competitive play — the difference between a 0.5x Garchomp and a 31x one. Hyper Training or breeding with a Destiny Knot is how trainers force those numbers, and this calculator verifies whether the effort worked before you spend the Bottle Caps.
The calculator supports all 1,025 species from Generation 1 through 9 with base stats from PokeAPI, so a day-one catch in Paldea and a traded Gen 3 relic are checked with the same math.
Natures and EVs included
Natures multiply two non-HP stats: +10% to one, -10% to another (or neutral for Hardy, Docile, Bashful, Quirky and Serious). Enter the nature the Pokemon currently holds — mints apply their effect instantly, so account for them — and EVs are optional: leave them at 0 for an untrained Pokemon or enter trained totals so the IV range tightens. The result table shows one row per stat with its matching IV range, so you can spot the dud stat in a four-line scan.

IVs in the wild: trades, raids, and breeding
Three situations send people to an IV calculator. The first is a trade: someone offers a shiny or a "good stat" Pokemon, and you want proof before you trade away something valuable. Check the IVs at the level it sits at, and the range tells you whether the offer is worth the swap. The second is a raid catch: a perfect raid boss can carry your team for a whole game, and a 31 in the right stat decides it. The third is breeding. Breeders check a parent's IVs before they start the grind to avoid wasting a whole box of eggs on a dud parent.
For all three, the rule is the same: test at the highest level you have, with as much EV information as you can enter. A level 5 Pokemon's range is nearly useless, while a level 100 test with EVs filled in usually returns a single IV per stat.
IVs across the whole toolset
